This lot comes from Hambela wash station in the kebele (small town) of Dabaye. Hambela is managed and was built by Kedir Hassan. Kedir is a longtime coffee farmer and mill manager as well as a very capable and proficient engineer. Hambela, with lots of support from the community, was in just one season although you would not know it to look at look it as it was built with the highest processing standards and efficiency in mind.
Situated in the storied high altitude mountain forests of Guji, coffees from this area are amongst the most coveted in the world. The wash station sits at 1816 meters above sea level with coffee in the area being grown as high as 2100 masl. Hambela also buys coffee from farmers in the nearby kebeles of Buliye, Wamena, Borticha, and Dari Rogicha.
