San Diego Buena Vista is a farm in Acatenango, Guatemala. This area resides within a massive volcano complex; Volcán Acatenango being the third highest mountain peak in Central America. Overshadowed by nearby and well-known Antigua, Acatenango has long been an under appreciated growing region with coffees from here often being sold as Antigua coffees. But Acatenango is a tremendous growing region in its own right with beautiful farms and awesome coffee, SDBV being case and point.

This coffee is a medium roast. Dry ground fragrance smells like brown sugar and almond butter, faint date-like fruit scents, and a cinnamon dusting. Adding hot water brings up aromas of candied and roasted nuts, raisin, brown sugar, cinnamon, and fleeting whiffs of chocolate and vanilla. The cup is balanced and well-structured; notes of brown sugar and molasses, bittersweet chocolate and vanilla, almond and walnut, cinnamon, subtle fruited tones, mild orange-like citrus in the cooling cup.

This coffee is part of our Farm Gate pricing program.
