Finca Matalapa is a 4th generation coffee estate not far from El Salvador’s capital San Salvador. Founded in the late 1800’s by Fidelia Lima, the estate is now owned and managed by her great granddaughter Vickie. Vickie maintains 14 acres of virgin rainforest on the estate and her coffee plants are shaded by over 40 varieties larger trees. This lot of coffee comes from a particular part of the estate called “Tablon Calagual”.

This coffee is a medium roast. Dry grounds have the fragrance of Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, and granola. Adding hot water richens aromatics; aromas of almonds, pralines, brown sugar, and hints of dried fruit. The cup is very approachable with lots of nutty flavors accompanied by flavors of caramel and bittersweet cocoa.

This coffee is part of our Farm Gate pricing program.
