La Unión, Colombia 12 oz. bag

17.50

This coffee comes to us from the Nariño Department of Colombia which is near the Ecuador border and Pacific coast on the western slopes of the Andes. This lot is a custom blend made up from six farms who are part of a local association in the town of La Unión in southern Nariño. These farms along with others have come together as Productores Aliados, or allied producers, and pooled their resources in order to set-up a milling operation in town. The six small 2-4 bag lots which were put together for this small 17 bag lot were unified by their impressive sugar cane juice sweetness and fruited notes.

This coffee is a lighter roast. Dry grounds are palm sugar sweet with stone fruit like, think golden plums, fruitedness. Adding hot water manifests marmalade and ginger bread cookie aromas. The cup is densely sweet and juicy; sugar cane juice sweetness with notes of apricot, golden plum, golden raisin, mandarin orange, and tamarind aguas frescas.

This coffee is part of our Farm Gate pricing program.
