Kibingo Station is located in Burundi’s northern Rwanda bordering province Kayanza. Kibingo acts as a central delivery site for a few thousand small holder farmers who occupy the hills surrounding the station. Farmers mostly grow in older bourbon type varietals first introduced by Catholic monks traveling from what was formerly the island of Bourbon, now Reunion island. With Kibingo sitting at around 1900 masl and many farmers growing at altitudes much higher than that, growing altitudes in this area are impressive. Last year Kibingo took first place at Burundi’s Cup of Excellence competition.

This coffee is a light roast. The cup is lively, complex, and clean. Raw sugar base flavors, clove, chamomile and raspberry leaf in hot cup, grape and dark berries in cooling cup, tart cranberry, lemon-like acidity.

This coffee is part of our Farm Gate pricing program.
