Kerinci, Sumatra 12 oz. bag

19.00

Mount Kerinci is the highest volcano in Indonesia. Located on Sumatra’s central west coast, Kerinci last erupted in 2009. This coffee is from two high elevation areas, Gunung Tujah and Kayo Aro, near Kerinci where older type typica varietals thrive on the high, steep slopes. Being a honey processed coffee it is a far departure from the traditionally wet-hulled Sumatran coffees. Earthy and herbaceous tones synonymous with Sumatra coffees are still to be found, however they take a secondary role to fruited flavors achieved by the honey process.

This coffee is a light roast. Complex, fruit forward cup with syrupy sweetness and subtle earth tones. Fruit flavors are upfront and reminiscent of dried fruits, cherry, date and prune, while earth tones bring to mind sweet basil.
