Kayon Mountain is a family owned and operated farm located in southern Ethiopia’s Guji Zone. All post harvest milling and export prep is taken care of at the farm. The farm is planted in regionally distinct, local strains of coffee that spread out from the forests in western Ethiopia where coffee originated and took hold in these highlands. This is a natural processed coffee, meaning the entire ripe coffee fruit is laid out to dry on raised beds, occasionally raked, for about a month before the dried seed is removed and readied for export. The result of this process is a heavily bodied and fruited cup.

This coffee is a light roast. Expect a complex, heavily fruited, and slightly rustic cup; berries for days (raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, strawberry), cherry, dried fruits like tamarind, cocoa dusting.

This coffee is part of our Farm Gate pricing program.
