Kagumoini is a coffee mill in Nyeri, Kenya. Nyeri is located in Kenya’s Central Highlands practically on the equator and in the shadow of Mt. Kenya, a stratovolcono and Kenya’s tallest peak. The soil in this area is red volcanic loam, it is rich in nutrients and ideal for growing coffee. Kagumoini is part of the Mugaga Farmers Cooperative. Coffee from Kenya is considered the cleanest on the planet. This is due to their meticulous wet processing methods which involves 2 fermentation, 2 washings, and a soaking. The result is the purest expression of varietal and terroir of any coffee on the market. This lot from Kagumoini is a AA separation.

This coffee is a light roast. Fragrance of dry grounds smells like raw sugar, orange-vanilla, and honey. Aroma of wet grounds smells like cooked raisin, plum, vanilla, caramel, and orange blossom honey. The cup is vibrant, complex, bright, and tangy. Raw sugar sweetness, orange citrus acidity, notes of fresh squeezed orange juice, mandarin, kumquat, green grape, lemon, and golden berry.
