Ichamama is a coffee mill in Nyeri, Kenya, named after the Ichamama river, which is the water source for the mill. Nyeri is located in Kenya’s Central Highlands practically on the equator and in the shadow of Mt. Kenya, a stratovolcono and Kenya’s tallest peak. The soil in this area is red volcanic loam, it is rich in nutrients and ideal for growing coffee. Ichamama is part of the Othaya Farmers Cooperative Society. Othaya is a coop-run cooperative and one of the oldest coops (mid-1950’s). Coffee from Kenya is considered the cleanest on the planet. This is due to their meticulous wet processing methods which involves 2 fermentation, 2 washings, and a soaking. The result is the purest expression of varietal and terroir of any coffee on the market. This lot from Ichamama is a AA separation, which is the largest bean size and most expensive.

This coffee is a light roast. Expect a complex, bright, sugary sweet and syrupy cup with fruit punch, guava, passion fruit, berries, and blood orange flavors with baking spice smatterings.

This coffee is part of our Farm Gate pricing program.
