The Ibutiti Estate is a privately owned farm by the Murathe family in the Kiria-ini area of Murang’a, Kenya. Next to Nyeri in Kenya’s former Central Province, Murang’a sits just east of the East African Rift Valley, flanked by Aberdare Mountain Range on its west and Mount Kenya to the north. The Ibutiti Estate is roughly 40 hectares and from agricultural practices to clean and well-ordered onsite milling it is an impressive operation. Coffee plants are well-spaced and pruned. The result is plants that outproduce other like varietals in the region.

This coffee is a light roast. Expect a vibrant and complex cup with a pulpy orange juice juiciness; flavors a red grape juice to grape juice mulled with cardamom and clove fill out the cup, date and prune like sweetness, dried papaya top notes.

This coffee is part of our Farm Gate pricing program.
